Ngutu Head of College speaker at 'People First: Prioritising Community Wellbeing' Conference

Mr Andrew Plastow, the Head of College at Ngutu College, Woodville North, is to be one of the Keynote Speakers at an upcoming conference - 'People First : Prioritising Community Wellbeing', to be hosted by Community Centres SA Inc.  He will present on the topic of 'Culturally Welcoming Spaces'.

Andrew is a Kamilaroi Educator and a highly experienced and visionary school leader, who has been the instigator and driving force behind the establishment of Ngutu College, an independent, not-for-profit, socially-just college on Kaurna Country.  Whilst the College is committed to fifty percent Indigenous enrolment, it welcomes all children as part of a diverse community.  The learning environment is an experiential one in which Aboriginal knowledges are seamlessly integrated with the Australian Curriculum.

The conference will take an in-depth look into what nurturing our mental health and well-being looks like as a community.  It will showcase best practice approaches, expert opinions and practical ways to address the complex challenges of mental health.

The conference will be held on Thursday 9 November 2023 from 9am to 8pm, at 292 Findon Road, Findon SA, and is already sold out.
