Home energy toolkits
An energy audit helps you to understand where you use energy at home and where you may be able to make savings. A home energy toolkit can be used to perform an energy audit in your own home and can be borrowed from your local public library.
Green Hubs
Conservation Council SA’s Green Hubs program works with community organisations to help them reduce their ecological footprint in the areas of energy, waste and water. These organisations, or hubs, become sustainability leaders in their communities, providing positive examples and advice to the thousands of community members who visit them. Transition Network
The Transition Network's role is to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities as they self-organise around the transition model, creating initiatives that rebuild resilience and reduce CO2 emissions. Transition communities have started up projects in areas of food, transport, energy, education, housing, waste, arts as small-scale local responses to the global challenges of climate change, economic hardship and shrinking supplies of cheap energy. These responses help to show the way forward for governments, business and the community. The transition initiatives in South Australia are:
