Human Rights Day is celebrated around the world each year on 10 December. This is a day for recognising the risks and sacrifices that have been made by people who have fought to defend human rights in countries around the world where they are not able to be taken for granted. It is also a day for encouraging everyone to get involved in promoting and defending human rights in all places and situations where this is necessary.
