Eligibility:
Foster care: Aboriginal children and young people 0-17 years (including children with disabilities). Aboriginal families in crisis in the metropolitan area. Referral required from Families SA or other agency. Self referral accepted from homeless young people
ABN:
AFSS offices are located in Adelaide metro area, Berri, Ceduna, Coober Pedy, Mount Gambier, Murray Bridge, Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln and Whyalla. Core services include Family Based Foster Care and family reunification services (Stronger Families) offered in all regions, other services are region-specific. Focus is on working to ensure that Aboriginal children maintain their cultural links despite being separated from their parents and ensuring where possible, Aboriginal families are reunited.
