To continue the International Volunteer Day blogs, Connecting Up Inc. felt we should introduce you to some more of our wonderful volunteers, many who have been with us for a year or more and a couple for only a month or two. Welcome to our Monday group.

Matthew Blandford
Matthew is a graduate of UniSA with a Bachelor of Writing and Creative Communication. He volunteers at Connecting Up to apply the skills he developed during his tertiary studies and gain further experience in an office environment for future paid work in an administration role.

International Volunteer Day 2019, 5 December - Why We Volunteer!
December 5 is International Volunteer Day 2019 and to celebrate volunteering and recognise volunteer contributions to Connecting Up Inc. we decided we would like to highlight some of our talented team members.

The SAcommunity Team welcomed some new members to our volunteer group in August this year including Brad who shares with us his volunteer experience below:

My name is Rex Porter, and I volunteer at both Connecting Up and the City of Prospect. At this stage of life, I’m not working and I have time on my hands where I can make a voluntary contribution to the community.

In this National Volunteer Week, Connecting Up would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution of our wonderful volunteers.

Connecting Up supports and values a culture of training and learning and our volunteers contribute to increasing the innovative capacity within the organisation. Our volunteers display key workplace skills in information technology, customer service teamwork and problem solving to SAcommunity and the volunteer program every day.

Farewell Professional Year Interns

Today we farewell our two new Professional Year interns Chen Li and Renu Bala, both UniSA Masters of IT graduates, who have worked together with our long-term volunteer Stathis Avramis over the last three months on creating a more sustainable volunteer model by implementing the volunteer management software investigated last year to structure volunteer admission and management processes, training and development.
