South Australia’s History Festival 2016

Running throughout the month of May, South Australia’s History Festival is one of South Australia’s largest community events. With more than 600 events taking place all around the State, the History Festival promotes our wonderful collections, places and stories through an amazing range of activities and events. These events are presented by more than 340 different community organisations – from museums and libraries, to CWAs and sporting clubs.

Meet our 14,000th entry - Lolly Jar Circus

Lolly Jar Circus (LJC) has been operating for 2 1/2 years, offering circus training to young people up to 26 years old, including those with physical or intellectual disabilities or who are socially at risk.

 

ANZAC Day 2016 (Centenary of Anzac 2014 – 2018)

ANZAC Day is held on the 25th of April and marks the anniversary of the Australian and New Zealand forces landing at Gallipoli during the first World War. The day serves as an occasion to reflect on war and commemorate those who have died in military and peacekeeping operations.

Annual National celebration of Australia’s unique heritage, showcasing places and stories

This weekend’s activities include:

                Saturday April 23 2016 Adelaide heritage walks: Music in the city

Connecting Up & SAcommunity - Outreach to Victor Harbor

 On Tuesday 5th April Connecting Up and SAcommunity were invited to Victor Harbor for their NBN Expo at the Victor Harbor RSL. 

 

The Digital Economy Expo provided information to the community on how they could maximise the benefit of high speed broadband rolled out in the Victor Harbor area. Ryan Jones from Connecting Up explained the possibilities this raised for seniors to a captive audience, whilst I took control of the SAcommunity stand.
